The Annual Treffen took a more relax form this year, no awards, no
fanfare, just folks getting together to talk Ghias and the cruise. Cars
got their final inspections, spare parts were bought, and final
preparations were made.
On of the more interesting stories is Parker and his father. Parker is
an avid Herbie Fan. He and his father met up in San Jose with the
cruisers coming down from northern California. They planned to join
them for a short cruise to Gilroy but along about San Luis Obispo they
called mom and let her know they were staying with the cruise to
Ventura. Here Parker was able to park his Herbie next to the one on
tour. Today Parker spent some time at the Treffen and they are
planing to cruise tomorrow from Santa Monica to Barstow before having to
return home.
